About ULB

ULB Institude P/L (ULBI)

ULB Institute is a small privately funded Institute working quietly behind the scenes to create the ULB Knowledge model & Unidata CommunityLink (UCL) Smart Society vision, Open data ecology concept and Design model for global cooperation model. The Unidata CommunityLink Data Unification framework has been built around the Community Access Interlink (CommunityLink) patent of ULB founder Ian Wilson.

In partnership with its associated Strategy Consulting firm, ULBI established Project UCL to drive the ongoing development of the design, strategy, organization, operation and funding methods to bring the vision and design solution to fruition.

ULB Holistic Capital Management P/L (ULBI) – Asset & Strategy Consultants

ULBH is a specialist Strategy Consulting firm that has been tasked to develop a Commercialisation Strategy and Funding methodology for the UCL ODE model. This has presented some unique challenges particularly in relation to funding and a path to market. The end result was the initial smart city business case in Australia to re-engineer $50bl p.a. of existing Council physical infrastructure expenditure to create a national digital data infrastructure network with $multi-billion revenues to facilitate inter regional & industry data sharing and fund next UCL open data ecology role out globally on a sound commercial base.

The first step of an integrated or Holistic Strategy

ULBH acting as the UCL model promotor will invite values aligned global leaders/individuals whose associated organisations have the most to gain and who can make the greatest contribution in terms of IP, operational contribution, funding and advocacy to participate the Project UCL “dialogus”. This comes with the opportunity to become a Unidata Foundation co sig owner of the initial data item used to establish the UCL safe network and support the initial IOT business case.

ULB propose the establishment of a Social Capital Investment Trust (SCIT) to i. secure the core IP ii. Fund and build the core Unidata CL system asset on behalf of the Unidata Foundation and iii. fund the Access challenge stakeholders. This creates the environment to bring the key commercial and community partners who will most benefit together into a commercial environment which supports rapid application development. The SCIT will have an Asset Manager with a unique global mandate & social capital purpose being to fund the development of the underlying infrastructure asset with the following value proposition and benefits;

This creates the environment to bring the key commercial and community partners who will most benefit together into an commercial environment which supports rapid application development and creates the pre conditions necessary for establishment of the Australian CommunityLink Knowledge Hub to implement the data unification key result areas identified above. As with other major Infrastructure Trusts the SCIT will have an Asset Manager with a unique global mandate & social capital purpose to fund the development of the underlying infrastructure asset with the following value proposition and benefits;

  • An equity investment with global, social, and economic reach
  • Establishment of a wholesale social investment fund/social investment bank
    • Perpetual annuity income stream from community monopoly infrastructure assets
    • Sole mandate to fund similar country based CommunityLink projects globally
    • Leveraged ability to support social outcomes
    • Drive ongoing system innovation without conflict of interest
  • Board & Investment fund involvement for the investor
  • A potential listing strategy or private treaty exit approach
  • Access to capital markets if additional capital is required
  • Potential 40% IRR from Australian Data Authority only
  • Acts as a new generation "social capital investment bank"

The creation and funding of a new generation Social Capital Investment Bank funded through annuity style revenues stream from a community monopoly infrastructure is a key strategy to “internally” fund the Unidata CommunityLink role out globally to support our transition to a new economy based on Regenerative Capitalism principles.
