Our Story

Our Story

Our story was born from the simple understanding that a system based on infinite compounding growth within a finite resource was not sustainable and continuing blindly head on into this outcome can only end badly. Using our own resources we set out to make a positive contribution to the problem, the result being many mistakes, learning the hard way and doing the hard yards.

The end result is the Unidata CommunityLink (UCL) open data ecology a “living system” design model for global cooperation which enables the ULB Holistic Knowledge model

The ULB Knowledge model is designed to support a digital age continuous learning approach for all individuals and connected communities to create a global learning organisation or “Living University”. ULB provides a vision & model for a simultaneously bottom up top down approach to optimize inter-dependencies and mutual benefits as part of a global community led movement to build the bridging system to a new sustainable “Mutual Life society” where every human is a valued “policy” holder within the new communitylinked constitution!

Once we had designed the ULB model we set out to design the enabling system which would support this vision and need. The result was CommunityLink, a breakthrough (societal or) open data ecology (ODE) model that provides true data ownership to address global & local systemic issues via a Design Model for Global Cooperation established and deployed by a Unidroit style (global legal unification) “Unidata CommunityLink Foundation” (UCL). Leveraging a uniquely engineered decentralised autonomous network the UCL model provides a structured approach to build a truly connected open data ecology with governance which enables safe inter community data sharing to secure cooperation & efficiency benefits not currently possible.

In essence the UCL ODE is designed to address the data ownership issue through the open data ecology. The ODE diagram provides a an overall picture to

  1. give a contextual understanding of the UCL model, principles and key potential stakeholders at a glance
  2. assist in creating a shared UCL vision, understanding and common language, support co learning and create our Foundation UCL smart contract shared asset pool.

The UCL is:

  • “a multilevel biofeedback framework to empower local and regional communities and private investors and govt’s to more effectively deal with local and global issues by increasing economic and social equity through redistributing wealth creation to the issues, people, communities and infrastructure that need it to redirect and sustain transformative new systems of collaboration for human sustainability”.

In short the Project UCL model objective is to enable existing (Association) players to partner and build the new Unidata collaboration system at the centre of the old without disturbing their existing operating vehicle thus minimising risk, institutional resistance, benefiting their members interests whilst maximising profit through system efficiencies, a true win win win upside.
